We recently concluded a three year project that was funded as part of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's Effective Health Care Program. Funded as part of the EHC's "Community Forum", the "Deliberative Methods Demonstration" investigated various deliberation methods and used Deme for each arm of a 5-method study. Deme was used as the online portal for all the participants in the study, and was used as a tool for asynchronous text deliberation (discussion, interaction with experts, and polling) in the Citizen Deliberation method. An Executive Summary of the study's findings has been published, with the full report and journal articles forthcoming.

Our involvement in the AHRQ Community Forum project (Contract No. 290-2010-00005) was funded through the Center for the Study of Language and Information at Stanford, under subcontract from the American Institutes for Research, with Prof. Kenneth Taylor as Principal Investigator . Deme Team members who worked on this project were project lead Todd Davies, software and design specialists Mike Mintz and Michael Huang, and students Jimmy Tobin and Noam Ben-Avi.
