Hi, all,

Silicon Valley CodeCamp offered us a a presentation spot that opened up on
Saturday (Oct. 8) at 5 pm. So I said we would do it. Let me know if you
can make it. All of us that can be there can help present. We have 75
minutes. Here's the title and abstract I gave them:

Deme: A Django-Based CMS for Deliberative Content Creation and Control by
Users

Level: Intermediate

Description: Deme (which rhymes with "team") is a web content management
system/framework designed for heavily social applications that involve
group deliberation/collaboration. It's also been designed to embody
Control by Users, a paradigm that combines ideas such as FOSS,
participatory design, data portability, a "bill of rights" for users, and
"Do not track". We will give an overview of the high level design goals
and show how Deme embodies them, with attention to
implementation/performance issues and coding choices for such a general
purpose framework. Co-presenters: Todd Davies, Mike Mintz, Noam Ben-Avi,
Jimmy Tobin

Also, you should register for SVCC at
http://www.siliconvalley-codecamp.com/Register.aspx if you have not
already.

It is possible we could switch to Sunday morning if this time doesn't work
for you guys, but I'd prefer the Saturday time. There should still be good
crowds at that time on Saturday.
